Where are you from?

Essex, England. 


How long have you lived in Portugal?

20 years.

I know you speak Portuguese fluently. How long did it take you to learn the language? Was it difficult? 

It took me five years to have a proper conversation! Yes, it was hard but well worth it.

You’ve had your own business in Portugal for many years.  This is the dream of many who want to make the move.  What advice would you give anybody who wants to do the same?

This is not England! Accept you are in Portugal and the system is different. Have patience.

The Salon originally opened in Alto Club then we moved to the centre of Alvor in 2010. We offer a full rang of hair and beauty services, from massage to gel nails and a full service hair salon. We

Do you ever consider going back to the UK?

Not seriously, but the thought crosses my mind sometimes. 
 
If you could change one thing about Portugal, what would it be?

I feel there is a lack of drive and ambition here.

Clams portuguese style.
